Most people think it will never happen to them. However, at some point in the their lives, one in eight men in the UK will face the trauma of being diagnosed with prostate cancer. In context that is over 40,000 men each year. Many of these, despite the common myth that this type of cancer is easily treated, will suffer significantly with symptoms and thousands will die of this disease each year. Early detection is key to saving lives and I am an advocate of regular PSA testing.
